On his way from kindergarten to his grandmother’s house, Amir is accompanied by a smiling cloud that sprays its raindrops on people and things. Along the way, Amir keeps asking: Who is the cloud smiling at? When he gets to his grandmother’s house, he knows the answer. This is a book about children’s reflections on what is happening around them, and about their cozy relationship with their grandparents.

Where does the sun go? How do clouds move? Where do colors come from? Who is the cloud smiling at? These are beautiful questions that recur in the minds of our children, and stem from their innate inclinations and their unbridled desire for discovery and knowledge.

The child has a wide imagination, and contemplates their surroundings and always wonders, enjoying learning and the information they find. The child needs us to listen to their questions and support them in answering them by searching for information. They also always need encouragement in order to continue to develop their curiosity and the search for knowledge. Let us support our child and expand their horizons and knowledge!

About the title “For whom does the cloud smile?”: We can discuss the title with our child and ask them: For whom, according to you, does the cloud smile? And why?
About our child’s hobbies and interests: Amir likes to watch the weather. We can talk with our child and ask them: What are the things that they like to do?
About the behavior of the characters: Amir watched the two cats, the doll merchant, and the students hide from the rain. We can ask our child: What do they like to do when it rains? How do they behave?
About our relationship with our grandparents: Amir told his grandmother that he knew for whom the cloud smiled. What did he mean by that? How was his relationship with his grandmother? We can talk with our child about the things they would like to do with their grandparents.
